Why is the Flu Virus Occurring in the Summer Months and How to Avoid It?

fluThe flu is a seasonal virus that usually occurs during the months of late December throughout early March. As well as, it is possible for people develop a cold or flu like symptoms in the summer months. These symptoms are not cause by influenza. The flu symptoms that a person develops in the summer months are caused by other viruses that are similar to influenza. In short, influenza is a strictly seasonal condition and only occurs in the winter months.

Most people will experience flu like conditions throughout the year. Influenza is commonly referred to as the flu and is a highly contagious infection. The condition is seasonal and occurs in the winter months. Also, influenza can affect the respiratory tract. Influenza only occurs during the flu season but the viruses associated with the flu can occur any time during the year. Viruses will not occur as often in the summer compared to the winter months. The reason for a person to develop the flu virus is based on the conditions the person is exposed to that will make their body susceptible to contracting the virus.

A virus can live longer in the winter weather because of the cold conditions. The virus is not able to live long in hot and dry weather. Most people stay inside more in the winter months and the virus is easy to transfer in a confined area. One of the reasons why people are able to catch viruses in the summer months is because of coming in contact with bugs and pets. The bottom line is if you come in contact with a virus no matter the time of the year you will probably become infected with the flu virus.

A summer cold is caused by Bactria located inside of the nose. Some of the symptoms are sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, headache, cough and fever. The symptoms are a result of the body responding to the flu virus. The myth is that cold weather makes people sick. This is not true. Germs cause people to develop viruses and people come in contact with germs every day. Summer is the time of year that people spend the most time outside of the home. During this time, people will be exposed to bacteria and possibly develop flu like symptoms. Some of the ways people develop viruses in the summer months are traveling by plane, visiting other countries, swimming in the pool, being inside of air condition building and having allergies.

Most people have to be prepared to fight the flu year round. If you want to protect yourself from contracting the flu viruses in the summer months then you will have to take the necessary precautions. Getting enough sleep is very important in keeping the body healthy. As well as, you will want to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day. Eating healthy and exercising is very important to maintaining the body and to protect against viruses. Most people become infected with viruses because of not washing their hands. It is important to frequently wash hands and keep the hands away from the face, nose, eyes and mouth.
